How to change hard drive space allocated to recycle bin?

Recycle bin stores all deleted files and folders (incase you do not setup direct deletion of files and folders). You need to allocate some percentage of hard drive space to store delete files and folder. This can be big strain on computer, if you set high percentage of hard drive space. Also, if you are running out of hard drive space you can reduce percentage of hard drive space allocation for recycle bin and save some valuable space.

Change recycle bin hard drive space allocation

1. Right click Recycle bin icon and click properties option.

2. Move the space slider to change hard drive space allocation for recycle bin. By default it is set to 10% for the drives on the computer.

You can highlight and select option “Configure drivers independently” to customize hard drive space allocation for each drive separately.
