Just like Norton security software, process of removing Mcafee security software can leave few unwanted file traces. Hence, you should use official removal tool to uninstall Mcafee software completely from the computer. After you activate your Mcafee subscription, perform following steps.
Uninstall using Add/Remove option
1. In XP, goto Start > Settings > Control Panel and double click Add or Remove Programs. In Vista, Click Start > Search, then type Programs and Features and click Go.
2. List showing programs installed on the computer will load. Select McAfee Security Center product and click the uninstall / remove option.
Download & Install removal tool
Click here to download MCPR (McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool) and save this file on the desktop. Double click on download file and follow on-screen instructions to remove leftover Mcafee files.
