Every program of Microsoft Office suite software display start splash screen, when you click its icon to open for use. While splash screen of Microsoft Word 2010 is pleasingly designed, it can become too boring if you regularly use Word program on the computer. Fortunately, there is an easy and quick method to remove this start splash screen while opening Microsoft Word program.
Remove start splash screen from Microsoft Word
You can easily implement this by creating a new shortcut icon for Microsoft Word program that will disable (and remove) display of the start splash screen.
1. On your Windows desktop screen, right click on the empty space then goto New > Shortcut option. This will open Create Shortcut display box for creating new shortcut icons for Window programs.
2. In the address bar to type location, you need to type following (including ” ” marks).
“C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice14WINWORD.EXE” /q
3. Then click on Next button. On the next screen you can type name to be assigned to the shortcut icon. By default WINWORD will appear, you can change it to any other name that is easily recognizable to you.
4. Click Finish button to complete creation of shortcut icon. Now new shortcut icon for Microsoft Word program should appear on the desktop. Double click on it and your Microsoft Word program should appear quickly without display of start splash screen.
Disable splash screen in PowerPoint, Access & Excel
Using similar procedure above, you can disable and remove start splash screen from appearing while opening other Microsoft Office suite programs like PowerPoint, Access and Excel. Just modify and use different URL path for respective programs as following:
