Picasa Web also called Google Picasa photos is free service to upload, store and share your photos online. We tend to use multiple Google accounts for different uses like business and personal. Have you have created a new Google account and now want to move photos uploaded with old Google (Picasa) account to newer Google account. Ideally, one would download all photos and re-upload them to new Google Picasa account. There is no need for such manual transfer as Google Picasa provide automatic transfer of photos from one account to another.
Transfer & migrate Picasa photos from Google account
Google Picasa web has ‘Migrate your photos’ feature that allows you to automatically transfer photos from one Google account to another without getting into hassle of manual photo downloading and uploading.
1. Open picasaweb.google.com and login into your account. After login, click on Settings icon at top right and then click on Photos Settings option.
2. On Picasa Web Settings page, click on Privacy and Permissions tab. Now you should see lot of options like name tags, location, allow any visitor.
3. Check for ‘Migrate Account’ option at the bottom of the settings page. Click “Migrate my photos” option under “You can move your photos and comments to a new Google Account“.
4. Now you should see pop-up window with title “Transfer your photos to a different Google account“. Here enter email address of your newer (or destination) Google Account. Then click ‘Send email with transfer instructions’ button.
Now logout from existing Google account and login using account details of newer Google account. You will see notification for photo transfer.
