Enable direct Windows 8 login without password prompt

Is password prompt while starting Windows 8 computer irritating you to the core? If your Windows 8 computer has single user (thats you), then you can safely remove the password prompt to start and boot Windows 8 machine. Once password prompt is removed by activating direct and automatic Windows 8 login featureĀ – system will automatically boot to the desktop screen without you having to enter user account password everytime.

1. On your Windows 8 computer open the Run box by pressing Win + R keys. In the Run box, type netplwiz and press the Enter key. This will open new box will “User Accounts” title.

2. Under ‘Users’ tab there will beĀ listing of all user accounts created on your Windows 8 computer. Click to select your user account and then click to uncheck “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” option at the top of this box.

3. You should automatically see new pop-up box will “Automatically Log On” title. Enter your password details of the user account and click OK.

This will successfully enable automatic Windows 8 login on your computer. Now your Windows 8 system will load desktop directly when powered on and no prompt to enter password to login will appear.

  2. This does not work for windows 8 pro. I have tried several times and it always asks for a HDD password. Has anyone found a way around the password for windows 8 Pro???
